Discourse and Free Expression: Understanding Your Rights and Responsibilities at the University of California

As a UC student, you have the right to express yourself, to engage in dialogue and to participate in the free exchange of ideas that fuels discovery and academic excellence. You also have the responsibility to ensure that your expression does not infringe on the rights of others and to uphold the values of equity, inclusion and respect that define the UC experience.

All currently enrolled UC students are required to take the Discourse and Free Expression training available on this page.
