Academic Pipeline

UC Health is home to many education pipeline programs that identify, encourage and aid students who might not otherwise think a career in medicine is a reachable goal. Given California's increasingly diversifying population, UC seeks to reflect that diversity in its workforce. By reaching out to elementary, high school and college students, promising students are identified and made aware of opportunities in healthcare. This often includes shadowing and internships, course counseling and help with studying for medical school entrance exams. 2/3 of UC health science schools offer pipeline programs and 1/2 of UC health science schools offer post-baccalaureate programs.

Access and Aid

Every qualified student, regardless of income, who dreams big and works hard should be able to enroll, thrive and graduate from the greatest public university system in the world. UC Health offers a variety of scholarships and grants aimed at increasing the recruitment and retention of underrepresented minority students.

Campus Climate & Culture

Campus climate is defined as the current attitudes, behaviors and standards of faculty, staff, administrators and students concerning the level of respect for individual needs, abilities and potential. Campus climate and culture are not just the experiences of individuals and groups on a campus; it's also the quality and extent of the interaction between those various groups and individuals that determines a healthy campus climate. Our vision is to create a healthy campus climate for faculty, staff and students.
